Sunday...

Posted by Rachel Parcell on

When Drew and I first moved into our house we started attending a BYU student married ward and absolutely loved it! The members of our ward were so nice and welcoming. Right as we were starting to feel apart of the ward I heard a rumor that the student married wards were going to be dissolved and I was so sad. When we were asked to speak in church and received a calling I began to think what I had heard was indeed just a rumor. We spoke in church the week of Christmas and I was SO nervous (public speaking scares me half to death) but on the bright side that meant I wouldn't have to speak again for at least two years. But I was so wrong. The rumor ended up being true, they dissolved our ward and we started attending our neighborhood ward which meant we were now automatically put on the list for upcoming speakers in our new ward. I couldn't ask for a better ward, we have been in this ward for about 2-3 months now and we love it. Both Drew and I have felt so welcome by everyone, especially by the bishopric because they just called Drew the other day and asked us to speak in church next Sunday. I'm SO nervous! Our topic is keeping our testimonies strong (if any of you have thoughts/ideas/quotes/scripture references let me know!) Sunday's are always fun, we get to walk to church now because were so close to our building and we get to sit with Tyler and Jenica (they're in our ward). Drew just got a calling, he's the secretary in the elders quorum presidency and is loving his new responsibilities. I haven't received a calling yet but I'm crossing my fingers for primary or young women's haha (but anything I get I'll be so excited for). Yesterday was a very special Sunday, one I will never forget. I received my patriarchal blessing and it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. It was such a beautiful blessing and strengthened my testimony of the gospel and how precious it is to my life. On our way to church!
