This season has been such a whirlwind with my new projects and launches! As part of my latest collaboration with RP x Blue Sky Planners, I've put together another list of planning and organization tips. Here's how I've learned to set goals, put my intentions to paper, and keep myself on track...
Goal Setting Tip #1: Embrace Your Creature of Habit
If you've tuned in to my blog and Instagram over the years, you know my life revolves around routines, traditions, and daily habits. From waking up and working out to planning holidays and family vacations, I love to set routines that feel familiar, productive, and manageable. Setting routines is a huge help to my goal-setting process: It frees us bandwidth and keeps the chaos at bay!
Goal Setting Tip #2: Make Checklists
I cannot stress this enough: When you're feeling overwhelmed, it's really important to write all your tasks down in a checklist. The simple act of putting pen to paper helps me visualize my agenda, set priorities, and focus on individual projects instead of trying to dive into everything at once.
I like to make checklists of individual tasks to lead to my ultimate goal, e.g., deep-cleaning the house, helping my kids be successful at school and extracurriculars, organizing my vacation time, or improving my health and fitness.
Goal Setting Tip #3: Tackle One Part of a Goal, Allow the Rest to Fall in Place
Something I always say is "Start working out and your diet will follow." I think there's something very psychologically powerful about focusing on one part of a task and allowing it to "attract" other efforts; it's like you're conditioning your mind and body for success!
Goal Setting Tip #4: Surround Yourself with Cheerleaders
This is perhaps the most important! Don't get swamped by negative energy from the people around you. Choose to work, plan, and collaborate with friends, family, and colleagues who are helpful, supportive, and excited about your goals.
