Day four...

Olympia was our first city to visit in Greece. Olympia is a historical city where Greeks built monuments to the Gods and held the first Olympic games ever. The ancient ruins are thousands and thousands of years old, it was a little surreal being somewhere that was so ancient and historic.

Ancient Greek writing...

The arch way is the enterance into where they held some of the olympic games.

You can't tell in the picture but Drew is standing on a feild that is the length of about two football feilds, one of the Greeks events in the games were to race to the end of the field and back...

Everyone racing... and Drew won!! :)

The champion of the race, if he lived in that time I bet he would have been Hercules!!
Ready...

Set...

Go!... haha I didn't really race, I didn't want to ruin my new toms! ;)

This is where the very first torch for the Olympic games was ever lit. This is where we get the lighting of the flame tradition. The Olympians would light this alter/torch as the start to the games.

This is one of the thousands of olive tress in Greece, these were the same olive trees that were standing when the ancient people of Olympia lived here. It was so cool to see an olive tree in person.

This is where the Olympians had some of their Greek bath's

We loved Olympia!...
